Rescue,
rehabilitate and care for injured, orphaned, abandoned, unwanted and
abused or neglected exotic birds. |
 | We
offer fostering, adoption and sanctuary programs for the birds that come
into our care. |
 |
We our run completely by volunteers including our board of directors.
These birds will be carefully assessed by our vet
and will be placed into one of three categories:
(1) We provide fostering in which we work with the bird until the bird
is suitable for adoption and a suitable adoptive home can be found.
(2) The bird is deemed fit for immediate adoption and we provide
fostering until a suitable adoptive home can be found for the bird.
(3) We place the bird in permanent sanctuary due to the physical,
behavioral, and/or mental health conditions of the bird which render it
unsuitable as a companion to a member of the general public. |
 |
Extensive medical
screening by our avian vet.
We do a complete
physical exam (including weighing), fecal and blood chemistries. We
test for Psittacine, Beak and Feather disease, Polyoma, and Chlamydia
(Psittacosis).
|
 | Education to the general public
that includes informative sessions for Elementary and Secondary schools,
Service Clubs etc.
We will bring parrots with us and explain how they came to us, also the
status of them in the wild. We talk about how important it is to do
research before buying a parrot. Other topics on demand. |
 |
Avian Consulting is available on an individual
basis. Subjects range from needs a new Companion Pet Parrot consultation
to Behavior Modification Program for a particular Parrot. It covers a
wide area. |
 | We offer full grooming services for
Parrots. We attend at the Parrot’s Home to do so. Gas fee may apply.

We are shelter-sanctuary that specialize in rescuing large birds/parrots
mainly such as Amazons, African Greys, Cockatoos and Macaws but we also
provide home for everything from Budgies to finches as well. Our main
concern is for the welfare of the birds in need of a good home.
Our doors have been opened to all unwanted, neglected and abused birds for
over 2 years. Due to work and love for animals we have managed to save a lot
of birds and help many birds stay with their owners through training
and behavioral advice.

We take in all species of birds, but namely
tropical birds. We do not adopt out the larger birds once they have
come to us, and we provide updates on their progress throughout their
lives should you wish. We can provide references upon request.
All of our birds are allowed free flight once they are accustomed to their
surroundings. They are given a diet of pellets, fruits and
veggies. All organic of course. Just think of us as a
retirement home for your bird. We even take in featherless and
problematic birds which we have had much experience with, and great
success. |
