Please read
this before you buy:
If you are
looking for a pet bird make sure you check out the breeder's health
guarantee.
Coming soon
- new article, "What to Look for In a Health Guarantee".
It is also a
good idea to find out if the birds are DNA disease tested for Polyoma,
Psitticosis, PBFD, and Pachecos. Hopefully they will soon discover
a test for PDD, until then that is not testable. :-(
Some breeders
only DNA test for gender - not diseases - so if they say it is DNA
tested make sure you ask for what.
The tests can
have false results and need to be re-done; but we feel they are still a
good idea.
Just
because the 'breeder' has done the handfeeding that does not necessarily
mean they bred the baby bird. They may have purchased the baby
bird or egg from another aviary. That aviary may have healthy
birds and may not.
Remember to ask
where the parents are located.
To search the
listing you can either click on the Province you want (below) or scroll
down this page and click on the species of bird you are looking for.
Either way you will come to a page with a list of breeders and
their
contact information.
The list is a
list of bird breeders - it is not moderated - it is buyer beware.
So make sure you check them out before you buy!
