  Toy Size Chart & Type of Toys they Enjoy

These are only guidelines.  You can go up or down a size for aggressive and timid chewers:  

X Small

Parakeets, Budgies, Cockatiels, Lovebirds, Parrotlets, small Conures, small Lories, Bourkes, Lorikeets, Fig Parrot, Hahn’s Macaw, etc.

The extra small birds enjoy small beads and bells.  They like foraging toys where they can rip it apart.  They also enjoy swings.  

Small

Pionus, Quakers, large Conures, Caiques, Senegals, Meyers, Jardines, Large Lories, kakarki, etc.

Medium

African greys, small amazons, eclectus, small cockatoos (goffin), mini macaws, Ringnecks, Alexandrines.

The medium birds like swings and bungies/boings.  They like to climb and explore.  At this size they can be chewers and need toys to destroy.  Blocks of wood, toys that are weaved like baskets, etc.  This size needs foraging toys.  They often like puzzles and educational toys.  Many enjoy toys that make noises or talk.  

Large

Medium sized macaws (blue & gold, military, etc.), large amazons, medium cockatoos (umbrella, etc.), .

The medium birds like swings and bungies/boings.  They like to climb and explore.  At this size they can be chewers and need toys to destroy.  Blocks of wood, toys that are weaved like baskets, etc.  This size needs foraging toys.  They often like puzzles and educational toys.  Many enjoy toys that make noises or talk.
